wow havent put a post on here for a while, have been very busy this year with the passing of my lovely nan (above) and weddings and the embroiderers guild exhibition and general day to day things. this time tried a new technique i saw online with wood mod podge and gloss gel, in a but shell...... paint wood with gel with a thick layer preferably with a sponge bush, a picture printed from a laser printer placed picture side down on the gel, wait till dry..wet paper and gentle rub away top layer of paper, when all paper is off, wait til dry and put layer of mod podge over it.. going to try a darker photo, most videos ive seen they have used darker photos and/or black and white..

This is the 2nd latest work of mine. All completely hand stitched which took a few weeks. It has just came back from sydney where its been exhibited at the embroiders guild headquarters. i had to laugh beause one of the guild ladies liz came back and told me than an elderly lady came through the second time and said to liz as she came around "oh i didnt see the cat last time" lol i thought that was great. and funny how she got a cat out of that. i love when people have to look a bit harder at my works. its amazing what some people come up with. :)

art diaries

 since joining the local embroiders guild, just in the last 7-8 months i have learnt so much more about fabric and stitches and techniques, some which i still need to try.

these a5 diary covers were a project we all made to sell and raise some money for the guild.

these ones on the picts arnt the ones i had there but another range ive made afterwards becuase of the enjoyment i got from making the first ones.

i ended up making three for the stall. i was so excited when i found out that one of mine have got over to germany!! so that was cool.

the book covers are made from fabrics that ive found that ive loved and lately ive been finding cool scarfs and things at the local op shops. 

when i give myself some more time im hoping to make heaps more maybe bigger or smaller sized books also. so watch this space.

ladies

hey guys just starting to put up some picts up, these are some of the ladies i started with from life drawings at uni. i got bored drawing them realistic so i decided to go a different direction seeing the body in abstract shapes rather than realistic ones. this drawings is drawn with pen and coloured in watercolour.

i hope everyone had a good boxing day relaxing. i havent done much art recently due to my hands being so sore, doing my best to make them better. having a good relax too. now just waiting for new years................
